Ian Brocket of the Winnoch herd is to be congratulated on obtaining such excellent prices for his bulls at the Border and Lakeland Holstein Club’s sale in October. This annual fixture had been delayed due to F&M, and British Friesian entries were slightly down.
Leading the field with the top price of 6,000gns was the pure British Friesian, Winnoch Unique. He was sired by Douneside Avenger and out of the Carrette family. Following this, Winnoch Ultimate, also by Douneside Avenger but out of the Penguin family, made 5500gns, as did the 75% Friesian Winnoch Victor. Ian also made another good price with 5000gns for a the 62% Friesian, Winnoch United, also from the Penguin family.
